F A M I L Y S U P P O R T

The New Jersey Family Support Act of 1993 mandated

a “coordinated system of on-going public and private support services which are designed to maintain and enhance the quality of life of a family member with a developmental disability and his family.”

SBA has designed these supports as the Act states to “support the entire family, be easily accessible, flexible, culturally sensitive and individualized.” The services are “designed to promote interdependence, independence, productivity and integration of people with disabilities

into the community.”

Support services are specifically tailored to meet the needs of both the individual and the family involved and may include, but are not limited to:

Our Family Support Program is funded by the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). DDD determines who is eligible to receive services based on a functional assessment. To request an application packet contact the DDD Intake Coordinator at the Regional Office nearest you.
